☆About Maïcee☆
Breaking down barriers is not within everyone's reach. For the past three years, French artist Maïcee has been dedicated to this mission, refusing to be confined to a single genre. Inspired by artists like Charli XCX, Shygirl, Mura Masa, FKA Twigs, or Rosalia, she's forged her own path.
Based between Paris and London, this rapper and singer blends electronic music with pop, rap, and dance to express her emotions. Her debut EP, « i think my brain is weirD », released in 2023, was a dark, electronic exploration that garnered critical acclaim in France (Libération, Les Inrockuptibles, Grünt, Rinse France). Following its release, Maïcee embarked on a solo tour and opened for singer Jain on her national arena tour.
After unveiling the five sunny and danceable tracks of « Been High Lately… » last fall (featured in Vogue, France Inter, Les Inrockuptibles, and Technikart) and performing in England and France, Maïcee is now releasing « And down aussi » to complete the project: a second part of five tracks to reveal a darker, more melancholic side of her emotions, with the artist's desire to show that there are no highs without lows, and that these are inseparable.
